Jeffrey King

Jeffrey (Jeff) King is a Patent Attorney at NovoTech Patent Firm, based in San Diego, California. Jeff specializes in patent prosecution, patent counseling, reexamination, and opinion work.  Jeff has significant experience in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and computer software and hardware innovations.

Patent Law Experience

Jeff has prepared and prosecuted patent applications across the computer, electrical, and mechanical arts. His expertise includes machine learning and artificial intelligence for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle navigation systems, as well as remote sensing and diagnostic systems. He has also worked on mobile devices, satellite communication systems, Internet of Things devices, image processing systems, medical devices, hardware and software security (e.g., threat detection and mitigation), and hardware and software for data centers and high-volume distributed data storage systems. In addition, Jeff has been involved in patent reexaminations for patent owners, due diligence to assess patent portfolios for purchase or licensing, and litigation to help clients assert their patents against infringers.

Technical Background

Before becoming a patent attorney, Jeff worked as a software engineer for nearly a decade. He developed software in C, C++, and Java for high-volume, low-latency transactional systems in industries such as mobile phones, insurance, defense, and medical devices. Jeff also has extensive experience designing and managing relational databases and software to support these transactional systems.
